Century Ride

We are gearing up for a trip to Lake Tahoe to watch Jake Brobeck ride in a 100 bike ride in memory of our son, Michael and Jakes uncle Joe! WOW, it has been so awesome to watch Jake work toward this goal, I have seen him ride his bike by the shop, have heard of his rides to Lucky Peak, Horseshoe Bend, etc. I hope he realizes how proud I am of him. Jake and Michael go WAY back. When Michael was about 2, Jake and Jere would ride their bikes to our house and play for hours with the kids. Not sure when, but they started pulling Michael around town in a tow behind trailer. Michael loved it and he love the "Robeck Boys". When the rest of us couldn't tell them apart, Michael could. Michael grew to love the boys alot, they were his bestest friends, he would say. There was one time we were all out stacking wood and Michael was trying to keep up with them and he looked up and Jeres britches were about to fall down (or so we tho't) and his smiley boxers were showing and Michael says "hey Jere, nice underoos". I tho't we all were going to die laughing. When Michael was diagnosed with his cancer and I was calling Grandmas and family and friends, he asked me several times if those boys were out of school yet, so he could call and tell them he was sick. He idolized the "Robeck boys". Through the years the rest of us fell in love with the Brobeck boys and have spent times laughing, crying and enjoying them. Of course, it could have alot to do with the fact that Mrs. Brobeck is my bestest friend.
So Jake ~ thanks tons buddy for remembering our Michael and loving him like you did. You were his hero, who else would name their new colt after you!?!?!
On June 3rd in Lake Tahoe, you go Jake Brobeck in loving memory of our little man ~ Michael Aman Patrick.
